Find out about Eco-Makeovers by our graduate students

SEEKING courageous and conscious landowners willing to push the boundaries of ecological design. If you want your home to become a place for self-sufficiency, beauty, productivity, and interconnection with whole natural systems, then CALL US.

In these times of changing climate, energy availability, and shifting ecosystems, we need to get serious about transforming our relationship with the land. Students at the Conway School of Landscape Design are focusing their fall term studies on integrated residential projects that provide for human needs while increasing biodiversity and ecosystem health.

The residential and small-scale projects work to evaluate and reduce our ecological footprint through conscious design. Natural systems (climate, water, vegetation, wildlife, slopes and soil) are carefully studied and integrated with the needs of the clients to produce landscapes that increase local food security, support economic relocalization, and contribute to the rebuilding of our bioregional communities.

Our goal is regenerative design which reconnects and ecological function and restores our communities to a place of harmonious participation in natural systems. If you are interested in an extreme eco-makeover for your home, please contact David Nordstrom at 413-369-4044 (x 6) or fill out our online form.

Students will consult and mentor with local Permaculture and ecological designers including Jono Neiger (Regenerative Design) and Kim Erslev (Salmon Falls Ecological Design).

The residential projects are scheduled during the fall of each year, beginning with a client interview in September. CSLD expects the client to meet several times with the student designer to outline their needs and wishes, and to review the progress and recommendations.

The project is to be completed by the end of the calendar year, with formal presentations and critiques before a professional panel and clients.
