Ben Falk “05, Principal of Whole Systems Design in Moretown, Vermont, will be the keynote speaker at the Ecological Landscaping Association’s 18th annual conference and eco-marketplace in Springfield, MA March 7th and 8th. His address, on the evening of March 8th, is titled “Landscaping as Foodscaping: Cultivating Resilience in a Time of Transition.”
Conway is co-hosting the conference, which begins with two intensive 
workshops – on conservation and urban landscapes – on Wednesday, March 7th, followed by a full day of workshops featuring innovative ideas, methods and products for stormwater management, site restoration, managing invasives, and site design. Falk’s focus is perennial food systems.
Theresa Sprague “08 will also be presenting at the conference; she will co-present a session titled “Conservation and Landscape Professionals – Working Together In Ecologically Sensitive Areas” with Ingeborg Hegeman, BSC, Ecological Sciences Group. Theresa will address the importance of thinking beyond the regulations when designing mitigation and buffer plantings as well as how to best develop and present plans to Conservation Commissions for review and permitting.
