Join Us for a Pier 42 Pop-Up Park Tour + Drinks with Conway Friends
Kerri Culhane ‘10, Associate Director, Two Bridges Neighborhood Council, will guide us on a behind-the-scenes look at Pier 42, a pop-up park created by local community groups, residents, and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, as part of a larger community engagement strategy around waterfront planning on the Lower East Side.
“Activating Pier 42 through temporary art installations and activities has proven to be a vital tool in a decades-long community-based planning process on the East River Waterfront. I hope fellow Conway alums and others interested in ecologically and socially sustainable design and planning will come out to Pier 42 on the 12th to see what we’ve been up to!” says Kerri.
Schedule: Conway alums and friends will gather at 2.30 pm, October 12, in front of the tree grove at the entrance to the pier and be guided by Kerri Culhane on a 20-30-minute walkabout of the pier. (There will be activities on the Pier, including hourly tours of the art installations, from noon to 4 pm.) The Conway folks will go for drinks after the tour.

Location: Pier 42 is located along the East River between the Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridges. The temporary park site is on the south side of the FDR Drive with entrances from the East River Greenway at Montgomery Street and through Corlears Hook Park at Cherry Street. The nearest subway station is the F train at East Broadway.
