Laura Marx has joined Conway’s faculty for the winter term. She will teach an ecology class each week, will lead a field work session, and will spend time in the studio to consult with students on their winter term community-scale team projects.

Laura is a Forest Ecologist with The Nature Conservancy’s Massachusetts chapter, where she works on environmental policy, forest science, and conservation. Much of this work aims to increase the use of natural climate solutions – actions that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase carbon storage in forests, farms, and wetlands. She also leads the four-state Green Mountains to Hudson Highlands Linkage (aka Berkshire Wildlife Linkage) Partnership, which works to protect a wildlife corridor that stretches from southern Vermont to northwestern Connecticut. Laura has a PhD in forest ecology from Michigan State University and has taught at Michigan State and Westfield State University.

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with Laura this winter!
