We are extremely proud of the work that the Conway School does. We know that the actions and accomplishments of our students and alums is meaningful and generates positive solutions for communities throughout the world. It’s nice to occasionally get recognition and affirmation from others too!
This fall, Representative Lindsay Sabadosa and Senator Jo Comerford introduced a Joint Resolution to celebrate the Conway School’s 50th Anniversary. The resolution passed the Legislature and was signed by the Speaker of the House, the Senate President, and the Clerks of both houses.
Following is the text of the resolution:
The Massachusetts General Court Resolutions congratulating the Conway School of Landscape Design, Inc. on its fiftieth anniversary.
Whereas, the Conway School of Landscape Design, Inc. was founded in 1972 in the Town of Conway and will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary in 2022; and
Whereas, the Conway School was established to bring experiential learning, collaborative education and a more progressive vision to the field of landscape planning and design while challenging its students to practice a whole-system approac to planning, design and land management that respects nature and humanity and encourages students to welcome diverse communities and stakeholders to come together around common goals; and
Whereas, the Conway School’s dedication to ecological awareness has consistently guided its decisions, from the curriculum its students follow tot the design and management of its faciltities; and
Whereas, in addition to technical, communication and management skills, students of the Conway School graduate with the ability to apply ecological design and planning principles to critical social challenges, including climate change and environmental justice; and
Whereas, the Conway School has continued to expand its efforts to reach potential students and community partners who would benefit from an ecological design approach; now therefore be it
Resolved, that the members of the Massachusetts General Court hereby congratulate the Conway School of Landscape Design, Inc. on the celebration of its fiftieth anniversary; and be it further
Resolved, that a copy of these resolutions be forwarded by the Clerk of the House of the Representatives to the Conway School of Landscape Design, Inc.
