The Next Five Years: Stability and Values

Adopted in June 2024, Conway’s strategic plan focuses on sustaining financial and institutional stability while remaining grounded in our core values: access, affordability, community partnership, employee wellbeing, and engaged, ecology-informed education.

Over the next five years, we will:

  • Strengthen institutional stability by building financial reserves, diversifying revenue beyond tuition, supporting thoughtful employee and board transitions, and refining transparent, collaborative governance practices.
  • Sustain curricular excellence by regularly assessing and updating our learn-by-doing graduate program to ensure relevance in design, planning, and ecology.
  • Deepen community engagement through meaningful partnerships with municipalities, nonprofits, and underserved communities, while continuing to strengthen ethical, justice-centered engagement practices.
  • Advance diversity and equity by expanding outreach, improving support systems, and addressing structural barriers to access.
  • Promote health and wellbeing for students, employees, and trustees, fostering a culture that supports balance, mental health, and inclusive learning.

At its core, this plan affirms our commitment to delivering a high-quality graduate education while navigating financial realities in ways that uphold Conway’s mission and values.
