We encourage students to avoid professional pigeonholes. We help each student define an individual path that is meaningful for that student, useful to employers and clients, and beneficial for the planet. More than five decades of Conway graduates who have gone on to important and diverse work bear out the success of this approach.

Conway graduates work in a wide range of fields related to ecological design and planning, often building on their prior education and experiences.

Whatever career a Conway alum pursues, they will graduate with:

  • A diverse set of knowledge and skills.
  • The ability to hit the ground running.
  • Experience in both landscape design and planning.
  • A whole-systems, regenerative perspective on design.
  • A supportive Conway community.

Who Are Conway Alums?

For over fifty years, Conway has offered ten months of intensive, specialized graduate study that prepares students to work as ecological designers and planners—over 800 of whom are now making a substantial difference in the world, taking on issues of great concern, including improved food systems, revitalization of struggling urban communities, conservation of biodiversity in fragmented rural landscapes, and the many critical challenges of climate change.

Over 800 Conway graduates are making a world of difference. Here are a few examples.
