Current Vocation
Strategic Communications and Marketing Associate, Water Systems Consulting

What were you doing before you applied to the Conway School?
Prior to Conway, I worked for a water think tank and became interested in communication and education efforts surrounding tough environmental issues.

What brought you to Conway?
My background is in environmental science with a focus in water resources. I have always been interested in design and how it can be integrated into resource management. I decided on Conway, because I felt the program would give me a diverse skill set and applicable experience for a variety of career paths that I was considering at the time.

Imagine we just met, and recognized we had common interests. How would you describe Conway to me?
Conway is a practical and intensive crash course on reading a landscape, understanding ecological impacts, and developing informed solutions, all from a holistic approach.

What are you doing right now, and what do you love about it?
Today I work for an amazing water engineering firm where I get to be involved in a variety of projects. Most of my work involves strategic communications around regional recycled water projects. I have also been able to assist in the landscape design of a water utility entrance and sign. One of my favorite roles has been managing the design of educational materials on stormwater pollution prevention that will be distributed across the State of Oregon. I love applying the design and communication skills that I learned at Conway in an industry where they aren’t traditionally used. It’s very rewarding and challenging work.
