Leveraging faculty expertise and led by teams of 2-3 graduate students, the Conway School provides planning and design services across multiple scales and with a variety of client types.
Community partners are typically clients for large-scale site design projects and community and ecological planning projects. These clients are across the northeast and include municipalities, NGOs, and grassroots organizations.
Small-scale site design projects are typically conducted for clients on a residential or “pocket park” scale. While most small-scale design project clients hold the deed privately, past clients have also included public entities for projects such as schoolyards, pocket parks, and libraries. These clients are within a 30-mile radius of our campus in Northampton.

Who are our Community Partners?
The Conway School’s graduate students conduct projects for a variety of client types. Engaging the community is at the heart of Conway’s winter planning and spring design projects.

How are client projects managed?
Prior to the project start, prospective clients work with the Conway School’s Project Manager, who will develop a project scope and contract for each client. Clients have numerous opportunities to define their project needs prior to its start.
