Ken is the Deputy Director of the Land Use and Environment Department at the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (PVPC). The PVPC provides technical land use planning and zoning assistance to 43 communities in the Springfield metropolitan area. His work at PVPC is focused on comprehensive, participatory and municipal planning services. He facilitates comprehensive planning and visioning processes, develops regulations like zoning, wetland and stormwater control, and streamlines the permitting process and development review. Previously, he was the Town Planner and Conservation Agent for Southbridge, Massachusetts, as the town’s first planner. He also worked as a land use planner in Central Florida at both the city and county level and has held positions in New York City and Boston in both public and private sectors, his work ranging from transportation, parks and open space, to affordable housing. He is a certified planner and serves as Vice President of the American Planning Association’s Massachusetts Chapter. In his spare time, he along with his husband produce musical theater in the Pioneer Valley with their nonprofit theater company.
