David Grist ’18 is a landscape designer, gardener, and graphic designer with a deep passion for education and community connection. A 2018 graduate of the school, David describes his time at Conway as “magical—an intense pause that set me on a path of discovery, challenge, and joy.” David’s professional journey spans over thirty years, including roles as a managing editor at Eating Well magazine, marketing specialist at Gardener’s Supply Company, and owner of his own landscape design business. He is also a dedicated community volunteer, delivering meals to seniors through Age Well Vermont. As a trustee, David is committed to strengthening the link between Conway and real-world practitioners, particularly small-scale businesses that design, build, and care for landscapes. He believes in education that inspires curiosity and cultivates critical thinking, saying, “We need good thinkers and communicators—not just subject matter experts.” David is excited to contribute his unique perspective and experiences to support Conway’s mission and future growth.
