Overview
The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act) requires institutions participating in federal student financial aid programs to publish information about campus security policies, crime statistics, and safety procedures. In compliance with the Clery Act, the Conway School provides the information and reports below.
Anyone with information about crimes, violations of law, or violations of School policy should report the matter promptly to one of the Conway School’s Co-Directors.
The Conway School also complies with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities receiving federal financial assistance. The School has designated a Title IX Coordinator to oversee compliance with Title IX and coordinate the School’s response to reports of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct. The Conway School works to provide a safe learning environment through clear policies, education, and reporting procedures. Members of the community also play an important role by remaining aware of their surroundings, safeguarding personal property, and promptly reporting safety concerns. While the Conway School has a long history of maintaining a safe campus, no community is immune from crime, and maintaining a safe environment is a shared responsibility.
Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Plan with Clery Act Report
The Conway School publishes an Annual Campus Security and Fire Safety Plan with Clery Act Report each year in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act. The report includes campus security policies, fire safety information, emergency procedures, and the campus crime statistics required by federal law.

Title IX and Sex Discrimination
The Conway School is committed to preventing sex discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, relationship violence, and stalking. The School strives to provide students, faculty, and staff with an educational and work environment free from discrimination and harassment.
All new students and employees receive the applicable Student or Employee Handbook, which includes the School’s Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedures, and acknowledge that they have reviewed these policies.
The School’s Title IX Coordinator is responsible for overseeing compliance with Title IX, coordinating the School’s response to reports of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct, and helping ensure that complaints are resolved promptly and equitably in accordance with School policy and applicable law.
The Title IX Coordinator:
- Helps create campus policies regarding sex discrimination and sexual misconduct and oversees these policies.
- Provides complainants with information about institutional and law enforcement options for resolution of their complaints.
- Assists complainants in receiving health, counseling, and other support services and facilitates implementation of interim measures, such as modifications to class schedules. Helps to connect survivors with resources on and off campus.
- Receives complaints of gender inequity and gender-based misconduct. Investigates complaints of sex discrimination or allegations of sexual misconduct and enforces disciplinary actions in accordance with the school’s policy (as outlined in the Student Handbook). This might involve conducting interviews with the involved parties, informing all parties of the school’s grievance process, establishing witness credibility, evaluating evidence with an impartial view, determining appropriate sanctions against the perpetrator, and helping survivors find resources. Ensures prompt and equitable resolution of all sex and gender-based discrimination and misconduct allegations, including by means of investigation.
